  • The magazine Condé Nast suggests a visit of one to two weeks, in order to enjoy a wide area of protected landscape
  • The Rota Vicentina, on the Alentejo coast, is one of the six pedestrian routes, from all over the world, considered to be the most beautiful by the Condé Nast travel magazine. The magazine advises the trails that travel most of the Alentejo coast to those who enjoy being alone, but at the same time appreciate nature in its purest state.

According to the magazine, the best periods to visit the Vincentian Route, integrated in the Natural Park of Southwest Alentejo, are those that go from September to November and the spring months, between March and May.

The magazine suggests a two-week visit to explore the existing trails and enjoy a wide protected landscape area where there are plenty of secret and deserted beaches, rugged cliffs and a great variety of fauna and flora.

In the protected zone it is forbidden to camp, but the hotels and lodges of the region are presented as alternatives and two localities are highlighted: Cercal do Alentejo and Santiago do Cacém.
